'If you want to buy something that appreciates, buy stocks and shares. Buy art because you want to live with it. Your appreciation is its appreciation.' - Ronan Sulich
This philosophy lies at the heart of Collecting: Living with Art by Kym Elphinstone. We’re delighted to have Kym joining us in Barwon Heads to celebrate this new book. Kym will be joined in conversation by features and lifestyle journalist, Kim Wilson.
Collecting offers a rare glimpse into the homes and lives of some of Australia's most interesting art collectors, from the emerging to the iconic. The book profiles 26 art collectors from across Australia with vibrant photo essays and intimate interviews about their personal collections. It is a visual feast and tribute to the personal journey of acquiring and curating art, celebrating the enriching endeavour of bringing art into the home.
Kym Elphinstone is an arts advisor and advocate working within Australia and globally. As the founder of Australia's leading cultural agency Articulate, Kym has championed the work of thousands of artists, advising on major museum and commercial gallery exhibitions as well as public art projects, biennales and festivals.
